Skills and Equipment

Source chapters are listed from the Web Novel.[1]

If a skill says "per day", it should presumably imply "per in-game day".

Indirect Skill[]

  • HP Drain
    • Consuming creatures in the game qualifies the user for an HP Drain effect. People have been misled to believe this is the HP Drain skill when it is only an indirect consequence that favored Maple, gaining unforeseen advantages from the unique occurrence. Eating an enemy prevents them from regenerating that damage and is very lethal.
  • Push Back
    • While this effect is more detrimental than advantageous to Maple, being on the receiving end, many powerful skills dealt to her have made this side effect a nuisance to her as she has a tough time moving around.
  • Unorthodox/Off-brand Skill Uses
    • Maple tends to find and use abilities, items, or equipment in imaginative and surprisingly inventive ways that the game moderators did not anticipate and were forced to adjust for on multiple occasions.

Equipment Skills[]

Black Rose Armor (Unique series armor) aka "Armor of the Black Rose"

  • Seeping Chaos (alt. Oozing Chaos)(Ch.75)
    • Effect: Grants access to the Seeping Chaos skills. Includes three skills.
      • Predator: Summons 2 predator devils to fight alongside you. They automatically defeat enemies and have their HP, attack, and defensive power independent of the user. Their firepower and speed are more than enough. Their attacks add Hex. No MP cost.
      • In the Anime: A slimy tentacle-like demon emerges from the user's shadow and begins to rive and whip like a prehensile muscle, causing damage to its target.
        • Hex (or Binding Spell): Stacks up to 5. Decrease the target's abilities by 5% per stack. Lasts 2 minutes per stack.
        • Seal (封印): Returns predator devils to the darkness.
      • Seeping Chaos: Blacklight oozes out of you, turning the (predator) devils gigantic, and they shoot out like Hydras. Their mouths are said to be 2 meters wide.
      • Seeping Chaos': Blacklight can also be Hydra's Hydra skill, though the damage is not poison.
        • Off-brand Use: Has been observed to be used to subdue a machine opponent, breaking down internal mechanisms. It may also be understood as promoting corruption.
      • Atrocity (or Savagery): Once per in-game day, the user shall lose all effects of equipment and transform into demon form. You gain a secondary stat bar with 1,000 HP. [STR] and [AGI] are increased by +50. When the user's HP bar is reduced to 0 in this form, the user will revert to previous stats and shed demon form. In this form, there are no death penalties for dying while the user regains all previous stat abilities that equipment grants the user and usually proceeds.
        • Off-brand Use: Certainly, this ability was not designed to be used in conjunction with multiple other abilities that duplicate the user under this effect. The word 'overpowered' has been used on multiple occasions about this. She has also been observed to be used as a capable mount, able to sit the rest of her guild on her back while in this monster form.
    • Acquire: (Assumed:) Defeat Devil with HP Drain.

New Moon (Unique Series short sword) aka "Crescent Moon"

  • Hydra (Ch.9) (evolve-chain from Poison Resistance (small))
    • Effect: Grants access to Poison Dragon skills. By consuming MP, Poison Magic can be used.

      • Hydra (Ch.12)[Episode 2]: 3 Headed Dragon spitting poison.
        • Off-brand Use: Observed to be used by Maple as a substitute for water, provided as a requirement producing liquid substance. Also used to pollute an entire body of water to defeat a dungeon boss.
      • Lethal Poison Breath (or Deadly Breath) (Ch.12)[Episode 2]: Mist of deadly poison from shield.
      • Venom Cutter (Ch.29)
      • Venom Capsule (Ch.31)[Episode 4]: Traps the target in a Poison container and they can't escape from.
        • Off-brand Use: Acting as a cushion, contents within the liquid, provided they are immune to venom/poison damage, may provide a protective barrier, also may be mobile at an inclined plane or act like a hamster wheel, and may survive even falling damage.
      • Poison Lance (Ch.49)
      • Acid Rain (Ch.56)[Episode 5]
    • Acquire: Defeat the Poison Dragon with HP Drain with Poison Nullification acquired.
      • Unorthodox Use: Through a combination or a single skill, Maple was observed to use venom or poison to fill up a cave opening, preventing players from entering or exiting without being damaged by it, deterring anyone from testing it out.

Mirror of the Dark Night (Unique series shield) aka "Replica of the Dark Night"

  • (passive) Devour (alt. Bizarre Eater, Foul Feeder, Gross Eater) (Ch.10)
    • Effect: A skill that changes everything that was devoured as power. It will devour even magic and can change it to the user’s MP. When the magic powers overflow, they will be stored inside the body as magic crystals.
    • Post-balancing Effect (Ch.20) [Episode 3]: Admins limited uses of 10 times per day to prevent abuse of the skill. The MP that will be absorbed will be doubled. When the magic powers overflow, they will be stored inside the body as magic crystals.

    • Effect: The user's off-hand arm turns into a group of stretchable blue-black tentacles. The user's left eye becomes gold with a black sclera (white part of the eye). The tentacles release a black mist and can paralyze contact. Skills and effects from the user's off-hand weapon or shield can still be used.
    • Acquire: Unknown. It has to do with the tentacles that abduct on the attack. (7th Layer)

    • Effect: Takes the damage the user received and adds it to their next attack.
    • Acquire: Individual reward from Event 3.
  • Machine God (Ch.84)
    • Effect: It was a power that destroyed equipment and gave birth to weapons. Sacrificed items of higher quality grant better bonuses. (note: Although it hasn't been openly stated, Maple has repeatedly insisted Machine God has limited uses throughout the 7th event. Either Destruction Growth has limits per day, or Machine God was nerfed)
      • Deploy All Weapons (alt. Deploy Armaments) (Ch.84)[Episode 8]: Sacrifice selected equips for armaments.
      • Deploy-left hand (展開・左手) (Ch.87): Sacrifice an equip for armaments.
      • Commence Attack (Ch.84)[Episode 8]: Fires all the armaments at once. They are not the equipment but skills that were enhanced at the price of sacrificed equipment. They do not depend on Maple's STR numbers for damage.
      • Break Core (Ch.147): A hole opens where your heart is, and a glowing red spherical sphere shoots 2 meters away. After 5 seconds, it nullifies all attacks in a set range and self-destructs. Everyone in range suffers immense damage. Maple cannot survive this skill unscathed.
    • Acquire: (Unconfirmed Hidden Quest) Although it may never be known if circumstances were done out of order, the achievement would have also been acquired. Either way, the quest first required a cog or medal found at the foot of a hill, half impeded into the bark of a tree. Next, an old man requiring food and drink must be found and conversed with about the history of the 1st and 2nd generation machines. Lastly, the Junk King must be subdued without damage to gain his trust and grant you his power. If all requirements are met, Machine God status is granted. It is also unclear if all these requirements are necessary to gain said skill/ability/equipment.
      • Off-brand Use: Some armaments have the disadvantage of recoil or pushback, pushing the user to the opposite direction as the full thrust power is directed at the opponent. Maple has been observed to use this as an advantage, using discharge for thrust to provide her with lift, sending her flying through the air. Some training may be required. (God damn it, Maple!)
  • Pandemonium I (alt. Parade of Apparition I) (Ch.148)
    • Effect: Call the Red Oni and Blue Oni for 1 minute. The Oni's status depends on your skill level. During this time, the user's skills will be 'sealed.' Your equipment's skills will not be sealed.

  • Great Eruption (alt. Huge Eruption) (Ch.221)

Also, when active, the user's hair changes to blond and gains a halo and wings like an angel. (note: It didn't get called differently from Loving Sacrifice, but this effect came into play.)
  • Throne of the Heavenly King (alt. Imperial Throne) (Ch.172)
    • Effect: Creates a throne behind you. The person sitting on the throne receives 20% less damage and recovers 2% of their maximum HP every second. All those within 30 meters of the throne, including yourself, have their skills from 'evil'-origins disabled.

    • Acquire: Event 7 Medal exchange.

    • Regardless of distance, as long as a friendly target is in line of sight, the user instantly appears in front or between the target and enemy, ready to defend. (Reminiscent of the Castling Move in Chess)
    • Acquire: To be purchased from the Skill Shop.
      • Unorthodox Use: Maple utilizes this skill to instantaneously appear by her target, compensating for her slow movement due to her lack of agility, allowing her to keep up with her faster teammates.
  • Inspire (alt. Encourage, Encouragement) (Ch.42 / 57)
    • Effect: Other party members within 15-meters have [STR][AGI] +20% for 1 minute.
    • Acquire: Event 2 Chest Scroll. (The chest with Kasumi)
  • Psychokinesis (Ch.56)
    • Effect: You can float a monster (and only monsters). The success rate is affected by resistance probably set for each monster. Failure protects the monsters from this skill for an hour. The MP consumed is affected by resistance probability. (note: As seen with Syrup, Bridge of Bonds pets have 0 resistance probability.)
    • Acquire: Event 2 Medal exchange.
      • Unorthodox Use: Maple targets her pet familiar in tandem with Supersize skill to effectively turn her familiar into her personal mount that can also fit her entire party of 8 people. Also seen to be capable of bypassing an entire plot blockade.

    • Effect: Changes the next skill you use into another specific skill. Effective for 5 minutes. Cost: 500 HP (Only Savagery, Throne of the Heavenly King, and Dedicated Affection are affected by Reverse Rebirth)(+Afterglow of Salvation)
    • Dedicated Affection developed an insatiable Hunger for Affection. All damage the user would have received will be dealt with to ally players and monsters within range. (Ch.333)
    • Savagery becomes Heavenly Guardian, and a hard outer shell protects the white body, and the differences were that she only had two arms and two legs now, she could not breathe fire, and there was no STR boost. (Ch.338)
      • Creating a field that decreases the total damage taken the more it's received, and their friends within the field will get status boosts.

    • She used the reverse throne in chapter 340; nothing else about it yet.
    • Afterglow of Salvation becomes Extermination Field (her four wings become black, a dark red halo appears, her white armor becomes black, dark red sparks crackle, and a dark light shines from the ground.) and going by Maples words; "...anyone who enters this field will take damage, become more susceptible to abnormal conditions, and suffer from reduced recovery effects!".
